Wesleyan Basketball

At Wesleyan, we're on fire for basketball.  Attend a game and you'll feel the excitement.  In our stands you never know who you'll be sitting next to, either---it may just be our college president, she's a pretty big fan.

In NCAA Division III competition, the Wesleyan Pioneers regularly win All-Conference and All-Academic honors.  On the hard court, our Pioneers have been national leaders in both three-point and individual scoring.  Meet our coach, register yourself as a fan and receive hot off the press news releases, or check out our basketball news.  You can do all of those things with just a click or two on our website.

Players on Wesleyan’s basketball team compete as members of the Great South Athletic Conference and travel to North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and various cities throughout Georgia. As a member of the Great South Athletic Conference, the team competes annually for an automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament. Only the Conference champion, as determined by the end of the season tournament championship, earns this honor.

Our basketball program boasts plenty of honors and highlights, like E’Lisa Ladson who earned the NCAA Statistical Champion honor for scoring in 2002.  Later that same year, the team was the statistical champion for three-point field goals.  We love good statistics, but our favorite highlight for 2006 captures our program better than a stack of numbers.  It was the front page article of student-athlete Crystal Church which appeared in The Macon Telegraph.  Read that and more in our basketball news section.

The Pioneers’ home court is the historic (and recently renovated) Porter Gym, which boasts arched windows and seats 586 cheering fans.
