Players on Wesleyan’s tennis team compete as members of the Great South Athletic Conference and travel to Alabama, Tennessee, and various cities throughout Georgia. As a member of the Great South Athletic Conference, the team competes annually for an automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament. Only the Conference champion, as determined by the end of the season tournament championship, earns this honor.
Wesleyan’s on-campus tennis training facility at the Mathews Athletic Center is second to none within the Great South Athletic Conference. Our tennis program boasts plenty of honors and highlights, like earning the departmental highest GPA award for eight consistent years. In addition, the Scholar-Athlete Award, the departmental award which honors the junior or senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA has been earned by a tennis student-athlete for the past two year.
Wesleyan's tennis program consistently places three to five student-athletes on the Conference All-Academic Team, which recognizes those with sophomore or higher status who have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. |
