Major Patsy Lightle – SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED)

Major Lightle is responsible for the research and design of SLED’s adult and child sexual evidence collections kits which became models for other state law enforcement divisions. She also designed and implemented the DNA Forensic Laboratory, the Department of Child Fatalities, and the Vulnerable Adult Abuse Investigations Unit. She has received numerous awards during her career, including the highest civilian award given by the governor of South Carolina, The Order of the Palmetto.
