Wesleyan College announces New Academic Dean
Dr. Vivia Fowler joined the administration of Wesleyan College as the next Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs in July of 2007. She relocated to Macon from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina, a sister women's college that also is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Wesleyan College Ranks High with Princeton Review
Wesleyan College offers students an outstanding undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review.  The New York-based education services company features the college in the new 2008 edition of its annual book, "The Best 366 Colleges."

First Female Bishop inspires Wesleyan graduates at 2007 Commencement
Wesleyan College’s 95 graduating seniors anxiously awaited the call to action and inspiration of Charlene Payne Kammerer, the first woman to be ordained Bishop of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church. The Wesleyan alumna (class of 1970) returned to her alma mater as the 2007 commencement speaker.

Wesleyan President Honored for Service
Wesleyan College President Ruth Austin Knox recently received The University of Georgia School of Law alumni association’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Scroll Award. The award is given annually to individuals whose dedication and service to the legal profession and the law school deserves special recognition.

Wesleyan College Breaks Ground on $12.5 Million Science Center
Wesleyan College broke ground on its $12.5 million Munroe Science Center Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11am. The groundbreaking of this highly anticipated center marks the beginning of construction for Wesleyan's first academic building in more than 40 years. 

Exemplary Macon Family Honored in Lane Center Dedication Ceremony
Wesleyan College dedicated its Lane Center for Community Engagement & Service to an exemplary local family during a ceremony  honoring William and Eleanor Lane, '58, and the memory of Linda Lane.   
 
Rosalynn Carter visits Macon
Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter met with Wesleyan College Professor Dr. Catherine Meeks during a site tour of the community outreach program, Aunt Maggie's Kitchen Table, located in the Anthony Homes public housing development.
